So you have a website. Now what?
Here are a few suggestions to help build your website authority and continually improve your site's search ranking:
Get Backlinks
High-quality, relevant links from other trusted websites boost your credibility (think Chamber of Commerce, professional associations, partners, accreditations, etc.)
Add your website to all of your socials and online profiles, too!
Clarify your contact info
Make sure your contact information is the same across all profiles (i.e. socials, Yelp, Google Business Profile, Yellow Pages, etc.). Double check your website URL, phone number, address (if applicable) and contact emails.
Take advantage of local SEO with a Google My Business Profile
This one of the quickest, easiest (and free!) ways to gain local visibility online. Google My Business (GMB) profiles show up at the top of search results and make it easier for customers to discover your business. It also connects to Google Maps and makes it easier for customers to find your physical locations (if applicable)
To get the most out of your GMB profile, complete the entire profile, add photos, and get at least 5, 5-star reviews
Get in the habit of asking for regular reviews and always respond to reviews right away!
Add a Blog
If you have a blog, publish quality content that is useful to your audience and or industry. Provide in-depth, helpful answers to common questions that your clients have about your product, service, or industry.
Write a Guest Blog with Backlinks
Do a guest blog post on other sites and have them link back to your website
Add an FAQ page
This can be a great place to publish high-quality content that’s valuable to your audience
Run a small google ads campaign
(You usually get a free ad credit when you create a Google Business profile) This will help you show up at the top of page 1, which can be especially helpful right at the beginning when your rank is generally lower
Invest in programmatic (targeted) google ads
These are highly targeted ads that are specific to your audience instead of the traditional “blanket” approach of throwing out the same ad out to everyone. Programmatic ads generally require lower investment and have a higher ROI than traditional ads. I’d be happy to refer you for this!

The Bottom Line: Building Your Website Authority and Ranking on Google Search is a Journey that Takes Time
The most important thing to remember is that all of this takes time! It's a marathon, not a sprint!
